Summary:

Encompass Health is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Wound Care Coordinator to join our team. As the Wound Care Coordinator, you will be responsible for directing, organizing, and developing all wound care services in accordance with applicable federal, state, regulatory, and company standards. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of quality patient care while following the Plan of Care and physician orders regarding wound care treatments.

Job Responsibilities:

• Direct, organize, and develop all wound care services in compliance with regulatory standards
• Ensure the delivery of quality patient care at all times
• Follow the Plan of Care and physician orders for wound care treatments
• Demonstrate effective communication skills with patients, family members, and healthcare professionals
• Lead hospital wound education efforts and educate patients and family members on wounds and wound care topics

Qualifications:

• License or Certification: RN, Physical Therapist, or Occupational Therapist required for acute rehab hospitals; RN required for long term acute care hospitals; CPR certification required
• Education, Training, and Experience: Minimum One Year experience in wound care; continuous updating of wound care knowledge through seminars and professional organizations required
• Skills and Abilities: Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner; ability to work independently without supervision

Physical Requirements:

• Good visual acuity and ability to communicate
• Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds
• Compliance with company standards of business conduct
• Maintaining current licensure and certifications, if applicable

Environmental Conditions:

• Indoor, temperature controlled, smoke-free environment
• Occasional outdoor exposure
• May be exposed to blood and body fluids
• Handicapped accessible
• May work under stressful circumstances

Proficiency or Productivity Standards:

• Meets established attendance standards
• Adheres to hospital/department dress code, including wearing ID badge
• May be required to work weekdays, weekends, evenings, and/or night shifts
• May be required to work on religious and/or legal holidays
