Responsibilities

As an RN Registered Nurse in the Main Operating Room, your responsibilities will include:

• Performing scrub functions, including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedures
• Performing circulating functions, including monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition, and managing overall nursing care of patients before, during, and after procedures
• Directly assisting operating physicians with surgical tasks, including hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning
• Preparing operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 30 days of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse credential from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at the time of hire.
