As a Respiratory Therapist at St. Vincent's Medical Center, you will be part of a dedicated team working at a 473-bed community teaching hospital. Additionally, our facility includes a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. Responsibilities

• Assess patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment
• Develop a care plan based on diagnosis
• Implement and monitor patient care plan
• Perform advanced respiratory care modalities
• Evaluate respiratory practice and treatment based on patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families about health conditions
• Assess patient conditions to determine the most appropriate mode of therapy
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy
• Maintain infection control policies
• Demonstrate competency on all equipment utilized
• Perform baseline pulmonary function screening
• Safely administer medications related to respiratory diseases

Requirements

• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Connecticut Department of Public Health
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Completion of a Respiratory Care Program
• 6 months to 1 year of experience preferred
