As a Respiratory Therapist at St. Vincent's Medical Center, you will be part of a dedicated team working at a 473-bed community teaching hospital. Additionally, our facility includes a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. We are proud to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network and contribute to our mission of providing excellent care to our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment
  • Develop a care plan based on diagnosis
  • Implement and monitor patient care plan
  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities
  • Evaluate respiratory practice and treatment based on patient outcomes
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions
  • Assess patient conditions to determine the most appropriate mode of therapy
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy
  • Maintain infection control policies
  • Demonstrate competency on all equipment utilized
  • Perform baseline pulmonary function screening
  • Safely administer medications related to respiratory diseases

Requirements

  • Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Connecticut Department of Public Health
  • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Completion of a Respiratory Care Program
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience preferred
