  • Standard Hours: 40
  • Job Shift: Shift 1
  • Shift Details: FLEXIBLE SHIFTS:
    • 1st shift: 7:00a-3:30p, 7:30a-4:00p, 8:00a-4:30p, or 8:30a-5:00p
    • 2nd shift: 3:00p-11:30p or 3:30p-12:00a
    • 3rd shift: 11:30p-7:30a
    • Rotating weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic imaging procedures in various locations, including ambulatory or acute settings
  • Position patients and operate diagnostic x-ray equipment
  • Provide patient care during imaging exams
  • Produce high-quality images for diagnosis and treatment
  • Minimize radiation exposure through appropriate radiation protection techniques
  • Adhere to radiation safety standards and hospital policies
  • Accurately input procedural information into electronic medical records
  • Obtain relevant patient information and ensure exam requests align with diagnostic needs
  • Explain procedures to patients and address their concerns
  • Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment according to performance standards
  • Perform quality assurance testing on equipment
  • Participate in department quality, safety, and compliance initiatives
  • Provide clinical supervision and instruction to students, if necessary
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited Radiography program
  • Licensure: State of Connecticut Radiographer license, ARRT certification in Radiography, Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Experience with PACS and digital technology preferred
  • Knowledge of cross-section anatomy
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
