Summary:

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse Leader (RN) to join our team at Backus Hospital in Niantic, CT. As a Clinical Nurse Leader, you will play a vital role in providing expert clinical support to registered nurses across the hospital. This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule.

About Backus Hospital:

For over 118 years, Backus Hospital has been a trusted provider of healthcare services in Eastern Connecticut. As the only trauma center in New London and Windham counties, we are committed to improving the health of our communities. With state-of-the-art facilities and a dedicated team, we provide high-quality care to our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and provide clinical support to registered nurses
  • Act as a mentor to bedside nurses
  • Liaise with managers, supervisors, and clinical educators
  • Make independent decisions regarding complex patient care problems
  • Attend and lead rapid responses and codes on off-shifts

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of RN critical care and/or emergency department work experience within the past 4 years
  • At least 3 years of unit-specific experience and charge nurse role preferred
  • Current State of CT licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Current healthcare BLS Certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
  • Specialty certification strongly preferred

Qualifications:

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize patient flow issues
  • Passion for taking action and making things happen
  • Ability to manage conflicts and build teamwork
  • Strong customer service skills
